Originated in May 2004 as the Girls Campus of Khyber Medical College, following an August 2003 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet decision, with its first batch of 50 students in academic session 2004-05. It became an independent institution named Khyber Girls Medical College on 8 December 2005, under founding principal Prof. Dr. Zia-Ul-Islam, and received full PMDC recognition in December 2008.
Location
The college is located in Hayatabad, a planned residential and institutional township on the western edge of Peshawar developed from the 1980s onward, near the historic Khyber Pass corridor.
